What Are Table Limits in a Roulette Game?
Table limits in a roulette game define the minimum and maximum amount you can wager on a single bet within one spin. Every roulette table, whether at a licensed casino in Goa or on an Indian online platform, displays a posted limit board that governs your stake. In India, limits are quoted in Indian Rupees (₹) and split into two hard boundaries: a minimum bet (the lowest accepted stake, typically ₹10 to ₹100 on entry tables) and a maximum bet (the ceiling, ranging from ₹5,000 on casual tables to ₹5,00,000 or more on VIP live roulette rooms).
Limits are not uniform across bet types. Inside bets: straight-up, split, corner, carry lower maximums because they pay up to 35:1. Outside bets: red/black, odd/even, dozens, allow higher maximums because they pay only 1:1 or 2:1. A table advertised as "₹100 to ₹10,000" may permit ₹10,000 on red/black but cap a straight-up number bet at ₹500. Always read the full limit card, not just the headline figures.

Table Limits Step by Step
Follow this sequence every time you sit at a new roulette table to avoid bet-rejection errors or accidental overstaking:
- Locate the limit board. On desktop platforms the limit card appears near the chip tray; on mobile, tap the "i" or "info" icon on the table thumbnail before joining.
- Note inside vs. outside maximums separately. A table may show ₹50 min / ₹25,000 max, but that max applies to outside bets only. Inside bet caps are listed beneath.
- Select your chip denomination. Choose a chip value that lets you spread bets without hitting the inside maximum on a single number. If the inside cap is ₹500, use ₹25 or ₹50 chips so you have room to cover multiple numbers.
- Fund your account using a supported Indian payment method. Platforms accepting PhonePe, GPay, and BHIM UPI typically process deposits in under 60 seconds, letting you move tables quickly if limits do not suit your session bankroll.
- Place a test minimum bet first. Confirm the platform accepts the stake before committing larger amounts, occasional connectivity issues can cause bet-rejection even within valid limits.
- Track cumulative outside bets. Placing ₹5,000 on red AND ₹5,000 on odd simultaneously may breach a per-spin outside total cap even if each individual bet is within limit.

How Table Limits Work in a Roulette Game
Table limits function as a mathematical safeguard for the house. Because European roulette carries a house edge of 2.7%, the casino profits over large volumes of play. A single uncapped straight-up bet at 35:1, however, could temporarily wipe out a session's revenue. By capping inside bets, for example, setting a ₹1,000 per-number maximum, the platform ensures its worst-case payout on one spin is predictable and manageable.
For players, limits interact directly with betting systems. The Martingale strategy (doubling after each loss on an outside bet) is the most common example: starting at ₹100 and doubling means you hit a ₹6,400 stake after just six consecutive losses. If the table maximum is ₹5,000, the system breaks at that point and you cannot recover previous losses by doubling. Flat-betting tables with higher minimums like ₹500 compress the Martingale even faster, only three doublings before you reach ₹4,000. Lower-limit tables (₹10 minimum, ₹50,000 maximum) give progressive strategies considerably more runway.
