Basic Rules, Roulette Game
How basic rules works for roulette game, UPI details, realistic timings and the pitfalls to avoid.
What is Basic Rules?
The basic rules of a roulette game define how every round is played, how bets are placed, and how winnings are calculated. At its core, roulette is a spinning-wheel game where players predict which numbered pocket a small ball will settle into after the wheel stops. A European roulette wheel has 37 pockets (0 to 36), while an American wheel adds a 00 pocket for 38 total, always choose European when available, as the house edge drops from 5.26% to 2.70%.
Every round follows a four-step sequence: the betting window opens, players place chips on the table layout, the croupier spins the wheel and releases the ball, then winning bets are paid while losing chips are swept away. Inside bets cover specific numbers, a straight-up single-number bet pays 35:1, while outside bets cover broad categories like Red/Black or Odd/Even and pay 1:1. The La Partage rule returns half your even-money stake when the ball lands on 0, cutting the house edge to 1.35% on those wagers.

Basic Rules on Mobile
Playing roulette on mobile in India follows the same core rules but with a touch-optimised interface. Reputable platforms display a virtual table layout you tap to place chips, with denominations typically ranging from ₹10 to ₹10,000 per spin. Deposits via PhonePe, Google Pay, or BHIM UPI credit your account within seconds, letting you join a live table or launch an RNG game immediately.
Mobile-specific rules to remember: the betting timer runs faster on live-dealer streams, usually 15 to 20 seconds per round, versus no timer in RNG games. Use the "Rebet" button to repeat your last chip placement exactly. Switch to landscape mode for full inside-bet grid access. Prefer Wi-Fi over mobile data when streaming live dealers; a dropped connection mid-spin is typically treated as a void round, with your stake returned.

Basic Rules for New Players
New players should start with outside bets, Red/Black, Odd/Even, or 1 to 18/19 to 36, because they carry the lowest risk and nearly 50% win probability. A sensible first session: set a fixed budget of ₹500, place only even-money outside bets at the table minimum, and stop after doubling your budget or losing 50% of it. Review which bet types you used before your next session.
The most common beginner mistake is confusing inside-bet payouts. A split bet (two adjacent numbers) pays 17:1, a street (three numbers in a row) pays 11:1, and a corner (four numbers sharing a corner) pays 8:1. Memorise these before moving beyond outside bets. Avoid the Five-Number bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) on American tables, its 7.89% house edge is the worst on any standard roulette layout.
